Hi, I’m Shelley.
I’m a wife, mother, believer, and lifelong lover of stories.
For as long as I can remember, writing has been the place where I slow down and pay attention to the quieter parts of life — the moments that are easy to overlook, but somehow stay with us anyway.
Grace in the Waiting began as a space for reflection, but over time it became something more: a home for storytelling, atmosphere, memory, faith, and the kind of beauty often found in ordinary days.
Many of the stories shared here are inspired by the things I love most — coastal towns, changing seasons, family, quiet evenings, old journals, meaningful conversations, and the feeling of finding your way back to yourself after life has asked a lot of you.
My faith has shaped the way I see the world. So have the women who came before me — especially my mother and grandmother — who taught me the value of stillness, grace, and caring deeply for others.
These days, you’ll usually find me writing with the windows open, sitting outside at sunset with a notebook nearby, or slowly building stories one piece at a time.
I’m so glad you’re here.
Pull up a chair.
Stay awhile.
You’re welcome here.

Thank you for being here. Whether you stay for a post or the journey, I hope you leave reminded that grace meets us in every season — and none of us walk this life alone.
